Plogging Nigeria organised the first Green Switch Academy in September 2019. Since then, other Academies have been organised with 1,287 successful participants. The 7-day Academy, which is aimed at helping participants develop new and sustainable habits that will contribute to reducing the negative impacts of anthropogenic activities on the environment, has witnessed participants from all 36 states in and the FCT in Nigeria and 22 other countries. The curriculum of the Academy centres on basic Ecological/Environmental knowledge, Solid Waste Management, Global Warming, Climate Change, Nature for Nature Solutions, The Sustainable Development Goals and other sacrosanct themes that foster responsible waste handling and eco-consciousness for general environmental protection, preservation and conservation.
