Cleanups, Arts and Circularity (CAC)

This is how we inspire and drive change to foster a regenerative ecosystem. With CAC, we call attention to the materiality of our current world while spotlighting the consequences of “take-make-dispose” practices. Through cleanup campaigns, circularity thinking and creative art performance, we challenge and inspire individuals in campuses, communities and industry clusters to reimagine our relations with finite materials.

Environmental Education, Research and Development (EERD)

Education is the bedrock of sustainability and our vision at Plogging Nigeria is tied to this realisation. Through workshops, training sessions, and developing educational content, we help individuals, institutions and industries to understand environmental issues and how to take action to advance a sustainable future for us and future generations. Through research design and fellowships, we are committed to inspiring innovation, finding solutions to climate and environmental challenges and developing strategies to address them. We currently deliver our EERD mandate through:

Environmental Policy Tracking (EPoT)

To achieve change at scale, we must leverage, as a society, platforms with the greatest agency to deliver change. While individuals may be passionately driven and motivated to advance sustainability, regulation, through policy, has better proven to motivate society to organise and act together. At Plogging Nigeria, we make case for, find, analyse, track and report on policies that can harmonise our passions or incentivise our apathy, as the case may be, to deliver environmental change at scale. We also advocate for policies that promote sustainable practices and protect the environment at sub-national, national, and international levels. Our EPoT theme covers:

Environmental and Climate Justice (EMCJ)

We recognise the disproportionate impact of climate change and environmental degradation on marginalised communities and therefore advocate for environmental and climate justice. We work to empower these communities by providing them with the tools, knowledge, and resources to cope, adapt, take action and demand their rights to a healthy and sustainable environment. Some of our initiatives under the EMCJ theme are:
