Sometime in 2016, Plogging was formally initiated in Sweden by Erik Ahlstrom. Plogging is a combination of jogging with picking up litter (PLOcka up + joGGING). As an organised activity, it spread to other countries in 2018.
Mayokun Iyaomolere founded Plogging Nigeria Club in 2018 launching the organisation with a plogging episode on 2nd of June at the Obafemi Awolowo University Campus, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. Since then, the organisation has gone on to establish subsidiary clubs in many Nigerian higher institution campuses and local communities actively promoting responsible waste handling and physical fitness through different activities.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row cspt-bg-image-position=”right-bottom” cspt-bg-image-color-order=”image-over-color” full_width=”stretch_row” css=”.vc_custom_1610131117977{background-image: url(https://www.ploggingnigeria.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/green-pattern-background-13.jpg?id=12923) !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}” el_class=”cspt-hide-bg-1200″][vc_column css_animation=”fadeInUpBig”][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][cspt-heading-subheading h2=”Club Roll” h2_font_container=”tag:h2|color:%23ffffff” reverse=”yes” use_custom_foncspt_h2=”true” el_class=”cspt-divider”][vc_images_carousel images=”11127,11128,11129,11130,11131,11132,11133,11134,11135,11136,11137,11138,11139,11140,11141,11142″ img_size=”full” onclick=”link_no” speed=”2000″ slides_per_view=”4″ autoplay=”yes” hide_pagination_control=”yes” hide_prev_next_buttons=”yes” wrap=”yes”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
